The villa sits in splendid isolation on a small hill with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside and of Radicondoli to the North. The house is extremely spacious with 4 simply furnished bedrooms in the main house (1 downstairs and 3 upstairs, accessed via the outside steps) and a further one in the attached annex to the rear of the property - which we didn't need or use; all bedrooms have their own bathroom. There is no air-conditioning but, even in the heat of August, we found open windows and fans were sufficient.
We made lots of use of the pool, which is huge and well maintained with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for shade.
The local village of Radicondoli is a 15 minute drive away as the direct road is closed by a landslide - but apparently this road is due to reopen in September 2020. Radicondoli is an undiscovered gem with cobbled streets, spectacular views and at least three good quality, reasonably priced restaurants - two of which we tried.
We also visited Sienna (lovely), Volterra (too touristy) and San Gimignano (very nice) and had a late afternoon by the sea at Follonica (worth the 1 hour drive).
Pasqualina was very helpful, quickly responding to any queries we had and, even though she speaks no English and we speak no Italian, we found Google Translate, gestures and miming were all we needed.
For much of the year we thought our visit to Tuscany would be impossible due to the Coronavirus but we consider ourselves fortunate that things resolved just in time to enable us to go to Italy and could not have picked a better place to spend our holiday.
