We recently stayed at Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda and had an enjoyable experience, especially with the accommodation. Our room was spacious, clean, and had an amazing ocean view. The bed was comfortable, and housekeeping kept the room spotless throughout our stay. The resort itself was beautiful, with well-kept grounds and plenty of amenities to keep us entertained.
Unfortunately, the food and staff didn’t quite live up to the resort’s other features. The dining options were repetitive, and we found some of the meals to be bland and lacking in flavor. We were expecting a wider variety of fresh, local cuisine but were often disappointed with what was offered.
The staff, while some were friendly, generally provided slow and indifferent service. We had several occasions where we had to wait a long time for assistance or help with basic requests. This lack of attention to customer service definitely impacted our overall experience. Majority of the staff didn’t speak English at all.
All in all, while the accommodation and location were fantastic, the food and service were below expectations. If you're looking for a beautiful place to stay with great rooms and views, this resort is worth considering, but be prepared that the dining and service may not be as stellar as you'd expect from an all-inclusive.
