The staff I met on this trip were amazing!!!! I read some of the reviews and I can say that I am in the percentage of people who enjoyed their stay. The resort is very big so if walking is not your thing know that they have tram cars to take you to your destinations on the resort. The a la carte restaurants that I ate at were amazing (M.E.A.T & RODIZIO). The food was top tier and even the regular buffet options were delicious! I did encounter a small problem with my room safe but the concierge sent someone right away and my issue was resolve within 10 minute. I stayed at the Bahia Aquamarine and there was no shortage of friendliness with the staff. Eduardo one of the head waiters/supervisors- in the Acuario buffet, Oliver at Acuario who worked on the patio, Ronnie one of the many amazing and funny tram drivers, security at the main gate and finally Miguel, Gladys, Jhennifer and Ludalka at the front desk! A big thank you and shoutout to them for making my experience, there with my daughter (who celebrated her 30th birthday)and our friends a very pleasant and memorable one! I will definitely be back and also suggest this hotel as a vacation option.

My daughter and I booked at the Grand Aquamarine but upgraded upon arrival to the Luxury Ambar property. So glad we did! Still adults only. But closer to the beach, included a swim-up room, and had a coffee shop on the property. Room was clean and comfortable but could use a little TLC. Minor cracks and missing tile in the bathroom and shower. Nothing bothersome other than no fan in the bathroom, so it gets a little steamy. Wasn’t sure if we’d actually use the swim-up pool at our room but we definitely did. Great way to wind down and cool off after a day on the beach. Easy to make reservations for dinner. Most of the food was good, but we loved the Dominican food at Taino on the Esmeralda property and the Mediterranean food at El Olivo on the Aquamarine property the most. Each property had its own entertainment each night and we could go to any of them. But we chose to stay at Ambar for the karaoke, silent disco and beach party. Staff was friendly, accommodating and entertaining. Beach is beautiful and clean. Soft sand and clear water. But definitely have to get out early to save seats. Pool is large with lots of chairs, swim-up bar and daily activities. Overall great place! Definitely recommend! March is a great time to go. Low to mid 80s during the day. Low to mid 70s at night. Much lower humidity than during the summer months. Ocean is a little cooler but you quickly adjust and get right in.

I’ve visited the DR 4 times previously. The resort staff were wonderful but the property was subpar compared to other resorts I’ve stayed at.

Did a quick vacay for birthday celebration. Aquamarine is basically a retirement home. If you’re 40 years and older this is the place is for you. It’s quiet and boring and play elevator music where ever you go. Randomly they’d play upbeat music but it doesn’t last longer than 4 minutes. Everyone sits by the pool and reads and the music at the pool area is at the bare minimum. People reserve lounge chairs even though it’s policy not to…. and then there’s no where to sit when you want to lounge by the pool. The food is not so great either. Buffet pretty much has the same thing every day and the restaurants have the weirdest menus ever. Definitely no Dominican culture here….. bring the beautiful music and add more authenticity to the menus to give a better experience! That’s the point of traveling to another country.

Phenomenal vacation! The property was gorgeous, the room amazing and the staff were all above excellent. Treatment was first class and it really made this vacation with my mom special and memorable!

We loved it here, they are so accommodating and its a beautiful resort. This facility is a well operated place. The staff are very distinctive and you know who can help you with what. The A la carte restaurants are remarkable. The only complaints we had; the bed was rock stiff and there was no reprieve from it. The shower didnt drain, and the valve was bipolar. Was either hot or too hot. Overall it's a 9 out of 10 for me.

Disappointed in the room. We had multiple bugs and the room had to be sprayed twice. Then we come back from dinner to find water coming out of the bathroom ceiling. I was unable to connect to internet and never received any help from front desk on it. This made it very hard to register for dinners or checkout. Finally was transferred to another room but then water was shut off at 2:30 am and then we had extremely hot water in the shower at 7:40. Not a good experience for the price we paid and concierge didn’t take me serious or want to help. When checking out I never was asked how my day was and didn’t think the customer service was there.

Service at front desk was good. Everywhere else was inadequate . Buffet food was horrible. Pool needs fixing as I cut my foot open on broken tile and had to keep it clean and dry for the remainder of my trip which I then could not enjoy the pool nor the ocean!

Our room was outdated, air and fridge was not working. Others we were with had bugs on their dresser and leaking ceiling. Upon check in no one explained to us about booking reservations for dinner in addition all restaurants were booked.

Everything about this resort was AMAZING. It was so clean, the staff was so accomadating and friendly, and the food was SO good. It is a huge resort and there is something to do every day all day. I cannot recommend this place enough. The pictures do not do this place justice, it truly is the best resort out there!

This is a nice resort if you are used to all inclusive. It is not luxury by any means but it’s nice for what you get. I would return.
