We booked a 3-night stay (Thursday-Sunday), choosing this place because it was pet-friendly. I confirmed with the host, Stewart, that our dog was allowed and there would be no extra fee. Due to Hurricane Milton, we adjusted our plans to arrive Friday instead of Thursday, which I communicated to Stewart. He assured us the property would be ready.
Upon arrival Friday (24 hours after our original check-in time), the house was still not ready. When I requested a discount for the delay, Stewart became aggressive and unprofessional, claiming delays were due to power issues, despite earlier saying the house was fine. He then pretended he didn’t know about our dog, even though we had discussed it before booking.
When we finally got into the house, it was far from what was advertised—dirty vents, worn carpet, poorly equipped kitchen, no hand towels or wash clothes. and uncomfortable beds. Despite paying for pool heat for 3 days, it wasn’t turned on as promised. Stewart ignored my messages about this and refused any refund or discount.
Overall, the house was disappointing, and Stewart’s hostility made the experience even worse. Avoid this place and save yourself the trouble.
