「We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa das Hortencias! Although our time there was wet and windy, we found lots to do. From hiking to shopping, to exploring or spending quiet time indoors, we all found entertainment. The house was well supplied with kitchen equipment and we made good use of it all. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms worked as they should. In total, a very good experience. 」

「The host and welcome gift were exceptional! The home was a nice, traditional family home and had a beautiful yard and was a short walk to everything in Furnas. We were there in March, and it was very cold and windy the day we arrived. We were able to move some space heaters around to get things warm. The space was larger than we needed for my two kids and I, and it would be perfect for smaller group like us or larger family. Thanks for a great stay!」

「Oh, gosh, what a place! Pedro, we so enjoyed your lovely house in the center of this hill town village surrounded by farm land. Each morning we took a walk and were greeted by the village animals: cows, cats, goats, and roosters. Your home was located in the center of all the places we wanted to hike. And the village restaurant had delicious food including the bifana sandwich. Your pool was the highlight of our evening as we swam and rested. We will return!」

「The location of the flat was ideal for exploring the island. Pingo Doce, a very large supermarket, was a two minute drive. Mariana was very responsive and helpful. She was very kind and had many suggestions to help make our vacation a spectacular experience. There are many excellent restaurants on the island but having the ability to cook and enjoy our meals on the very spacious balcony made the vacation extra special. The view from the balcony is amazing. Obrigada Mariana 」

「Superbe maison localisée en plein centre d'un village authentique. Emplacement idéal pour visiter toute l'île de Sao Miguel. Vue sur mer des fenêtres de la maison et des 3 terrasses. 「Great place to use as home base while exploring Sao Miguel. Was no more than 30 minutes driving from anywhere we wanted to go! There's a nice beach within a 5 minute walk, no crowds and still close enough to the action. Kitchen was well apointed so we could cook meals. Any issues were resolved within 1 hour with the property owner on site. Perfect for a family of 5! 」

「I loved the location, which was so close to the beach, that you could hear the sound of the waves. It was breathtaking at sunrise and sunset. The staff was very nice and tried to help with food restrictions (although there were some diffeculties with the understanding of what food is really vegan (e.g. eggs in pasta, butter on bread.
