The electronic keys didn't work while all my ski things were with me, and there was no one on duty in the Inn to let me in! They had sent a text that if I arrived after 4 pm to go to a different hotel to check in -- but no one was there earlier, either, both days I stayed there, so when the keys wouldn't open the door, someone had to come from the other hotel to let me in...TWICE!! And then my neighbor was locked out for the same reason. I stayed at this Inn years ago, but will not be returning, ever again. Avoid at all costs. You do not get what you pay for.

It was ok. Price was good, they have a shuttle to the mountain, and the location was fine. The lobby area was a bit messy. To be fair it was a holiday weekend, but still, the place was messy. Also, the upholstered chairs in room 311 were stained. It was kinda gross. Check in and out was very pleasant.

Good service overall, but check in was entirely too late (past 5pm) with an early check out than most places (most are 11am). In addition, I would not recommend staying here if you want to sleep. We were woken up at 5am each day by stomping above us and around us. Also had a family staying next to us constantly screaming at each other so needless to say a sleepless vacation. We appreciated the daily cookies and hot chocolate and friendly staff.

We stayed one night for the last-minute ski trip. No one informed us we need to check in in another hotel 3 minutes drive from the inn. It snowed heavily that night and it was extremely challenging. Hotel room is clean and comfortable though.

No front desk personnel after 6pm-not explained during reservation. Key secured at adjacent property; key didn’t work, so had to put luggage back in car and drive back to adjacent property for new key. Phone number shown at front desk to seek help didn’t forward, so no means to seek help or report any emergency. Thermostat fan disabled, so no air movement without playing with heat/cool settings. Significant deodorizer smell to mask mustiness; very difficult to sleep. Cookies left out in lobby, nice touch, but uncovered; better if individually placed in zip-lock bag to maintain sanitary status. Hotel designed for ski season; trying to draw business in off season. Long overdue refresh needed. Major issue with safety & security with no on-site personnel. Upon check out we did receive a lower rate to overcome drawbacks.

The facility was clean and well maintained. We arrived early evening and the front desk had closed. It was necessary to drive to another property to get our room keys. They did not work so we had to go back for another set. They were very polite but it was inconvenient. Also, it is a multilevel property without an elevator. They had tasty muffins for breakfast.

The carpet had a strong odor. We had to check in after 8pm in the grand hotel, the front desk person although helpful seemed to be very stressed. There should be clear information of how to get to the Snow Cap Inn from the hotel. The room was very warm and the thermostat did not function correctly.

We loved how nice the staff was. Especially with our dog. The room has everything you'd need. It was spacious, clean and well kept. Overall, amazing value for money spent. The property itself does not have a lot of the extra amenities some people might need if they are staying long (breakfast, pool etc) but it is perfect for a weekend getaway or stop during a road trip. We went during peak foliage season but I can imagine if going during ski season, you'd be in a perfect location without the hefty costs of the local resorts.

Our overnight stay

Our first impression was not great as when we arrived at the hotel there was no one at the desk just a sign to go to one of their other hotels down the road to check in. So we got back in the car and drove down the road to check in during which I had the surprise dropped on me that even though I had paid for our room in full when I booked it that there was a $50 hold that needed to put on the room for incidentals which would be totally fine if I had known about this when booking the room. Then I was told it would be put back on my card after checking out but there could be a 7-10 day hold on the refund depending on the bank. The room was nice just as pictured on the site. The beds were just a little uncomfortable and we couldn’t get the ac to keep the room cool. The next morning when we went to check out again no one at the desk just a few room keys other guest had left on the counter. I normally like to check out with someone so I know they have received my key back. The area was very pretty. So over all I guess it was about a 60/40 stay. I think if in the area again maybe we would give this hotel another chance.

We were moved to a different hotel, but did not receive notification of the change. The Snow Cap Inn was completed quiet and nobody at front desk when we arrived.
