I just returned to the United States after staying one week at SeaGrape Heights Cottage in Nevis with my two young adult children, and the visit was fantastic. The cottage itself is an airy, bright and well-equipped home sitting on top of a high hill, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is close enough to the ocean that you can hear the waves. In the morning, it was such a peaceful experience to sit on the porch and watch the sun rise, listening to the sounds of nature. In the evening, we were fortunate to sit in the front yard on cushioned lounge chairs, feeling the ocean breeze and watching the stars, which were bright and clear.
The stay was made such a good experience largely because Mr. Wallace and his property manager, Artavia Liburd were extremely attentive, responsive and gracious. This was an adventure for us. We have rented homes within the United States via VBRO and Home Away, and never before have we had such support. Mr. Wallace and Ms. Liburd regularly communicated with me both before and during the trip. They offered information about car rental, ferry transportation and local events. Without my asking, Mr. Wallace thought of things I wouldn't have thought of, including best ways to travel to and from St. Kitts. A few times, when we needed items, he arranged delivery to our door within an hour or two! And, he coordinated assistance when we had trouble with the vehicle we rented, without me asking! When we needed to exchange vehicles, Ms. LIburd, who also manages Strickers Auto Rental actually brought it to us on the beach!
SeaGrapes Heights Cottage provided us with a safe, comfortable (the bed was more comfortable than my own) base to explore the island, which is stunningly beautiful. We visited the islands's beaches, rain forest, mountain and botanic garden. All of this was made easy by making use of a cooler and beach chairs that were made available to us by Mr. Wallace. We saw wild monkeys climbing the trees and goats and donkeys freely wandering about. While snorkeling, we saw sea turtles, crabs, squid, sea urchins and beautiful fish. Along the way, we met many friendly people.
