Location, location, location!
Visiting Montreal was great here. Right in the heart of the plateau, this place gives you so much. Dozens of places to eat (including the famous ones (Schwartz's Deli and Fairmount Bagels) just a few minutes walk or bus ride away. Even with a university bar across the way, it was quiet inside. The area around the place is truly its best quality. The most walkable neighbourhoods in the country, lots of public art, quick metro access, and so much local life going on. Also, cute little rooftop terrace to spend down time on.
Some things to note:
-don't bring a car if you don't need to, parking is probably terrible, use the metro and transit
- Montrealers seem to enjoy cigarettes and pot, so keep the window closed in the afternoon and evening if you don't.
-included sound machine helped if there was any noise, if anything it was too quiet for me some nights.
- if taking public transit here, ride the orange line to station, instead of walking up St Laurent Blvd from the downtown area, it's a steep hill.
- only stairs to get into the building, and quite a few of them. So keep in mind your physical ability.
- there were a couple things about the apt that could have been improved (musty smelling washer, burnt out light in fridge, etc) but definitely nothing that would impede your stay.
Otherwise I would recommend this place many times over. Worth the stay, and make sure to explore the area.
