We booked a night stay here in mid-November. A welcome letter sent to us several days before our arrival indicated “plenty of amenities to enjoy,” “Live Music in the Speakeasy and other sports activities such as Bicycle and Kayak and Paddle board Rentals (seasonal),” “a classic bar and restaurant available” (with a comment to see the website for hours). The website indicated a bar open Mon-Sat from 4–7pm. When we arrived around 3 pm, the place was deserted despite a sign on the front door that stated office hours were from 3–7pm. We entered our room (which was beautiful) using the code sent to us. We tried to find someone to answer some questions, and finally one of the workers found us and said the manager would be there at 4:00. We walked down to enjoy the riverfront only to find that all the chairs/cushions were put away, so there was nowhere to sit! We saw that the kayaks were put away for the season. In fact, there was no one in the main building, it was all dark and there were no employees in the building. Later we saw a hotel worker, and she said there was a continental breakfast in the morning .The final straw was the next morning (8:30) when we tried to find where breakfast was being served. The front door to the main building was locked, and when we texted the number posted, we were told that she could unlock the door remotely and that someone would be there at 9 am to start making coffee. We couldn’t wait and no apology or refund was offered when we complained.
