It is characterized by a Mediterranean climate, dry summers and mild winters and is one of the sunniest Adriatic islands.House is situated just 50 m from the sea and 300m from lakes.Ancient Greek poet Homer writes about this island in Odysee, and how he had sailed in this region. Apostle Paul mentions this island on his voyage through Adriatic and visits the island on his way to Rome. Just as the destiny brought many visitors to this island throughout centuries, today’s visitors are coming to experience stillness of Mljet.Apartment, 30sqm big, offers cozy bedroom with duble bed and exit on private, furnished balcony, fully equipped kitchenette and bathroom with shower. Kitchenette provides fridge, coffee maker, microwave, stove and kitchen utensils. Balcony offers great sea view and view on village. Mljet is the southernmost and easternmost of the larger Adriatic Islands of Dalmatia. It is the greenest Island with Mediterranean vegetation, a clear and clean sea, and a gentle sandy shoreline. National Park spreads on the western side of the Island (for over 54km2) and offers shady walking or cycling tracks, ancient ruins, and saltwater lakes. Entrances to NP Mljet is in Polače and Pomena.The main places are Pomena, Polače, and Sobra and in those places, you may find supermarkets, ATMs, restaurants, travel agencies, souvenir shops, etc...Island is regularly connected with Dubrovnik with a ferry from Dubrovnik or Korčula as well as a car ferry connection with Pelješac Peninsula on the Croatian mainland.Being located just over 15 minutes walk to Malo Jezero (Small Lake) of Mljet National Park, the village is the main entry point to the Park. Nowadays it has its hotel, a couple of restaurants and coffee bars, grocery and souvenir shops, agencies etc… As a bay, is a very safe place for anchorage, being sheltered by a tiny island of Pomestak, which acts as a local naturist beach too.Pomena is also a port where one will arrive if you take a day trip to Mljet by fast ferry from Korcula, Hvar, Split, Brac, or Dubrovnik.
