Situated directly across the street from Mammoth Cave National Park, this brand new home places you right in the middle of all the area has to offer. The home comfortably sleeps eight with three queen beds and one master king bed. Relax after a long day of hiking on either the front porch facing the National Park, or on the back porch overlooking a beautiful lake.

Family Vacation
We haven’t had a family vacation in many years. We previously stayed here and had a great time so we booked another stay. The house is spacious and accomidated all our needs. The owners are awesome to work with and very responsive. Thank you so much for a great vacation spot! I’m sure we will be back at some point.

I believe everyone is doing the best that they can. This property was not perfect and the owners could do a lot more to make a few improvements. So I would like them to take this as just feedback so they have the opportunity to improve what is almost a really great thing. Before you go remind people to look into the green ferry, furthermore please give people the code 2-3 hours before arrival, we got in a traffic jam which was the only reason why we didn't need it at 4pm otherwise I was going to be sitting at the property without a code. All the beds squeak and I would never allow anyone to sleep in that upper bunk the they are so wobbly it does not seem safe to have anyone sleep on it.Trash was outside not a very good first impression. The cookware is not something anyone should cook on, invest in some clean/safe/new cookware. The drawers in the kitchen where you keep things all dirty, I can't tell you how that made us feel, when we found dirty items, almost every time we needed to use anything including a dirty coffee pot. Create a solid system so these things are not missed when you clean. The whole house needs a deep clean. I found may areas with hand prints, layers of dust. This house will and did smell of stale smoke, people who owned this before were smokers. We had to open windows to get the air to move around so we didn't smell it. Also why does the house not have front screens? This place was not all bad, I think they will improve, and can. Like I said nice people.

Weekend Getaway
We wanted a nice relaxing weekend together and that is exactly what we got. Spacious living inside and out. Bob the cat was an added bonus! He is the sweetest Boi. He likes bacon and bread and def scratches behind the ears and belly rubs! We will be reserving again in the future.

Relaxing retreat
The house was beautiful - well designed and well stocked with everything we needed for our 3 night stay in the area. We easily accessed the Mammoth Caves, the Corvette Factory and museum in Bowling Green, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Bardstown and Louisville from this location and also managed to have a little time for relaxation in this cozy house! (We were 7 adults)! Loved the well stocked kitchen for cooking multiple meals.

Nice clean rental with prime location near Mammoth Cave National Park. Check-in process was seamless with great communication from the property manager. Quite satisfied with the experience and would recommend to others.

Easy drive to Mammoth Cave using the Green River ferry.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet that this property has. The house is very clean and has new appliances. The beds we’re very comfortable. We will choose this again whenever we are near Mammoth Cave National Park.

Beautiful!
This is the cutest house, right on the morthern edge of Mammoth Caves Narional Park. Easy access to the visitors center and trailheads via a ferry that will take vehicles across the river. We also made a 1 hour drive to Bernheim Botanical Gardens and Research Forest. Loved Mammoth and Bernheim. I highly recommend this rental property!

Mammoth Cave Rental
We had a great stay at this property! It was beautifully decorated, clean, and so spacious. My kids loved watching the fireflies on the back porch and spending time with the kitties that would visit often. The ferry was down, but we made the most of the drive into town and enjoyed a full day. Tabitha was so helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. Thanks for the hospitality!

Great house - ferry usually doesn't run
This was a great house for our family of five + two grandparents. It has a lovely firepit, is newly remodeled, and has good AC. The property manager was really responsive, and she even sent someone out to tighten some screws on the bunk bed when we needed it. Kitchen was well-stocked too, and they have a TV with roku and good internet. Everything we needed! My only knock on the house was that the top bunk mattress is really uncomfortable. I like a soft matress, but it's just bad. That's super minor - we absolutely love the place. We didn't fully realize that the trip to Mammoth Cave vistors center goes from 20 min to 45 min if the ferry is not running. Or at least, we didn't realize how infrequent the ferry runs. We were told to just assume it will never run in the summer b/c of low water levels. Now sure why the park doesn't build a bridge! Thanks for a great house and excellent communication.

Absolute Gem!
This little piece of heaven in Kentucky is an absolute gem! To begin, Mark and Tabitha were great hosts. We did not meet them in person but via messaging, they were super. The house itself is much more spacious than it appears and far exceeded expectations. We stayed at four properties on our summer vacation and this one was the favorite. The house was immaculately clean, beautifully appointed and on a wonderful acreage. We loved it and couldn’t wait to get back every evening to enjoy the fire pit. We bought an ATV bed of firewood from sign in the yard without realizing it was the neighbor down the way. He did bring some friends along to check out who was renting the house, but they were very friendly and not a bother. The cat that thinks it owns the place was super sweet and we all enjoyed seeing it every morning and evening when we returned. Mark and Tabitha left a nice little hospitality gift for us upon arrival - which was totally unnecessary but a nice touch. A previous crabby reviewer complained that it was not as advertised and the beds were creaky. Okay, the beds were all a bit creaky, but other than that - it was BETTER than advertised. Everything was great! Looking back, it exceeded our expectations and was more than worth the price. If this place is available for your dates, look no further and book it.

Great Location & Place!
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Mammoth Cave Getaway. The house was clean, the beds were very comfortable, offered a fantastic shower in the master, had plenty of space inside, and a very nice outdoor space as well (my kids enjoyed Bob the cat that hung out outside of the house). While we stayed the ferry wasn’t running due to the low water levels, had it been running we would’ve been 6 miles away from Mammoth Cave. Due to the ferry not running that meant we had to drive 45 minutes to Mammoth Cave instead. This was nothing that our host could control and we had done our research to know this might be the case if it wasn’t running. We very much enjoyed our time at the house. We cooked and played games that they had, which was really enjoyable. We’d recommend this place to others and would stay there again in the future (hopefully the ferry will be running next time)!

Great family friendly place close to Mammoth Cave!
Overall this place was great for our family of 6 with 2 under 2. The house was very clean upon our arrival and we had everything we needed. Loved the master bathroom, the shower is huge! We spent plenty of time on both porches in between trips to Mammoth Cave. The ferry was up and running during our entire stay, so the visitor center was only 15 minutes away. Internet was going in and out, but Tabitha took great care of us and it wasn’t a big deal. Would definitely stay again!

Favorite rental we’ve ever had
Location was perfect to get to the park without having to be in the “tourist trap” area…..peaceful and quiet. Everything was spotless. My kids LOVED the welcome kitty.

Good intentions, mediocre performance
The price was right, for its location, in the best case and the property was well cleaned. All HVAC and appliances are new and worked well. That said, there are a number of misleading claims and/or misinformation in the listing, large and small. Biggest issue - the listing states it is across the street from the Park - untrue or if it is, there is no access the park crossing the street. If the Green River Ferry, runs, it's a 15 minute drive to the Visitor Center, and at least a 10 minute drive to the Park boundary. If the ferry is not running, it is a 45 minute drive to the Visitor Center. The check in process was marred by broken promises, made worse because our family drove in from three locations. The host wrote that he would provide an access code the day before our arrival - didn't happen. When I called to ask about it (no texting available on the listing) the evening before, the other host said that she would provide the code after cleaning on the morning of our arrival - I updated everyone about the delay. At 1 PM local time, still no entry code; called again. The host forgot to text the code, texted it while I kept her on the phone - updated the family with that. Upon arrival the code opened the back door, but not the front door - called again and got a code to open both and updated everyone. The male host stated that he would provide a few adult beverages - didn't happen. The male host provided an incorrect WiFi password - cell phone service in that rural area is very poor, so WiFi is important. A plaque in the house showed a different WiFi password - did not work. I called the host and she told me that all letters were lowercase, even though she wrote them in upper case. Minor, but annoying - had to again update everyone with that. The listing shows two queen bunk beds in one room, while there is one. The mattresses in the bunk beds are uncomfortable. The queen bed in another bedroom was loosely put together, so that every time I moved, it creaked loudly - easily fixed if the host would pay attention to details. While the hosts were responsive to my calls and some of the problems were minor, they should not occur and could all easily be fixed to make the visit much more pleasant - provide accurate info, keep the promises.

Kentucky Cave Family Vacation
The house is exactly as described. Beautifully decorated and plenty of room for 5 of us to spread out. The bunk beds were a little wobbly, but sturdy enough for my boys to get a good nights sleep. The handle on the grill is falling off, but we still cooked great tasting steaks. There were plenty of dishes and cooking utensils to cook all our meals. We planned ahead since the house is in the country and about 40 minutes from Cave City for restaurants. We hoped the Green River Ferry would be running, but it was down for maintenance. We knew in advance, so we made sure we allowed enough time to drive the long way around the park. Also, my son enjoyed making friends with the neighbors cat that came to greet us when we arrived at the house. Mark was very responsive and answered all my questions quickly. During our stay, he updated us on the status of the ferry. The informational binder and pamphlets were also helpful. There are coupons for a few of the activities we did! The check out process was super simple and straightforward. This was one of the best Vrbo experiences we have had.
