I had booked this apartment several months ago and I had asked a couple times about final details for check-in etc. I reached out to her 3 times and I finally got the information the DAY I was traveling to Spain.
Once I got there, luckily it was during normal hours, I had to call the property manager to get instructions of where the keys were etc. I was not told this until the day I got there
No instructions anywhere: For example, the Wi-Fi, turns out that the username and password is on the Wi-Fi box, which is on the bottom shelf in the bedroom, not in an obvious place.
There are 2 air conditioners, but there’s only one remote control that operates both of them, who knew? One of the light switches to the bathroom, is in the hallway, I know this is Europe, but one switch is in the bathroom took me a day or two before I figured out where the other one was, but who would think to look on the wall outside the bathroom?
The air conditioner in the bedroom worked, but the other one in the living room did not. I sent several messages and kept getting the same thing oh send me a picture or it worked before, but there was no concern or saying he will get somebody up there to look at it. Never was able to get it to work
The bed - hard! I told the manager, her response was, we’ve never had complaints before but she will look into it?
The front door is typically locked most of the day, and I found out after I left that I guess there is a button to open the door when I’ve been using a key the whole time including when I had to leave at 7 AM. I asked what I was supposed to do, and after I stuck my suitcase in the door, went back upstairs to leave the keys, I got a message about the button when I was gone!
I think one of the risks that I can learned about staying in the property like this is it’s not like a hotel where if work needs to be done, they are not going to disturb the guests. In my case at 9 AM, which is pretty early in Spanish time, there was basically jackhammers and grinders going off doing construction next door. Needless to say I wasn’t able to sleep very late. I told the property manager and she said long as it’s after 9 AM there isn’t anything that can be done. She could’ve offered a discount or just some thing to show that she cared about my business but I never got that.
Location was really good, I loved the shower overall better than a hotel except the jackhammers in the morning.
Communication and concern was poor 😔
