Magisch Madeira
We hebben hier een heel fijne vakantie gehad. We houden van rust, de voor sommigen eerder afgelegen ligging was voor ons dus een pluspunt. Boodschappen doen we onderweg, want we gaan meestal alle dagen wel ergens wandelen of iets bezoeken. De veranda was leuk, omdat het 's avonds toch soms nog te fris was om buiten te zitten. Het is een ruime, leuke vakantiewoning. Fijn zwembad. Gemakkelijke, vlotte communicatie met de verhuurder. In een eerder review werd de opmerking gemaakt dat er meerkost was voor airco en verwarming van het zwembad. Misschien zou het beter zijn als dit in de advertentie vermeld werd. Maar airco hebben we niet nodig gehad, de woning is gemakkelijk te verluchten en het koelt ook 's avonds af tot een aangename temperatuur (2 jaar geleden waren we in augustus in Madeira, en toen was het 's nachts ook niet te warm om te slapen). Verwarming van het zwembad was voor ons niet nodig.

A lot of time spent in car
Don’t stay here if you plan to hike the mountains, levadas or do anything besides chilling by the pool. 25 fontes and Levada Nova is pretty much all you can do in the region, everything else is going to be a lot of time spent in the car. Early wake ups, one lane roads and tunnels will exhaust you. The property itself is ok, little bit dated, with annoying water pressure, but it gets you through the night. There is additional fee for pool heating (absolutely understandable) and AC.. the AC fee is pretty funny since you’re paying quite a lot for a night. Total AC per day is 30€, pool heating around 20-25 per day. It would be nice to mentioned this in the description on site BEFORE renting. The house is up in the mountain, by the big wall, under the road - it gets really humid and smelly inside - you’ll have to either vent a lot or pay for the AC. The shower renovation is long overdue.. each time you’ll try to move the shower door, it will pop out of the rail, stop, or jam. Also be careful with food, there are ants around the sink. The access to the house is quite steep and narrow and requires a little bit more skilled driver. You can park your car up on the road. Communication and check in/out was ok. Alberto is skilled speaker and English is no problem for him.

Wonderful Madeira.
Modern, spacious well designed property in a quiet location with ample facilities for a comfortable self catering holiday. Surrounded by magnificent mountainous scenery, we enjoyed a months stay in February, and were fortunate to have good weather on 26 of our 28 days stay. Alberto and Maria are lovely people who care about their guests, communication throughout was excellent, we hired a car at the airport and the satnav link Alberto provided took us straight to the property where he was waiting to greet us.This was our fourth visit to the beautiful island of Madeira and probably the best, it left us wanting more. The property is located approximately a ten minute drive from the town of Calheta where you will find a Marina and a good selection of restaurants, there is also a Pingo Doce supermarket that is open seven days a week until 10pm each day 👍😎

Spacious house and pool
We had a nice week staying at Alberto and Maria's house. It is very comfortable and has everything required for a self catering holiday. The beach and supermarket in Calheta are easy to get to. Pool was fantastic - we used it every day. Beds really comfy and kitchen fully kitted out.

SEJOUR AGREABLE A MADERE
Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Maria et Alberto. La maison correspond à l'annonce. Nous avons bien profité de la piscine chauffée. Nous avons loué la voiture d'Alberto. Il est venu nous chercher à l'aéroport et nous a raccompagné à la fin de notre séjour. Belle île à découvrir grâce à de nombreuses randonnées. Nous sommes restés une quinzaine afin de profiter pleinement de ce formidable environnement.

Modern house with spacious pool and BBQ area
The house of Maria and Alberto is a modern house which has just the right size for 2-4 persons. The open kitchen is functional and equipped with all the amenities needed. There is even a little washing room. The two bedrooms have a good size with large built-in closets. There is one big en suite bathroom with an impressive bathtub and one bathroom with a shower. The living room has a big sofa from which you have a stunning view through the panomaric windows down to Arco da Calheta and the Atlantic ocean. From the terrace you have the same view. The poolarea is very spacious. The pool itself has a good size with absolute clean water. Additionally there is big BBQ room and a nice little garden with banana trees. Maria and Alberto are a very friendly and caring couple. They let you know in advance everytime they intend to come around for gardening and poolservice. Another advantage of this villa is that you can rent a car from Alberto. And a car is absolutely needed. So they picked us up at the airport on arrival and drove us back on departure. Over all we had fantastic holidays in a very nice villa with super 5* hosts!

Schönes Ferienhaus in ruhiger Lage mit Meerblick
Alberto und Maria sind sehr nette Vermieter. Sie haben uns ein Auto vermietet, den Flughafentransfer übernommen und sind nach der Ankunft mit uns zu einem Supermarkt gefahren. Haus und Garten bieten viel Platz. Den Pool konnten wir, auch ohne dass das Wasser aufgeheizt wurde, gut nutzen.

This is a true Gem. The owners are fantastic and welcoming. The place itself is clean and quiet with such beautiful views. You will need a car as you are about 1/2 way up the mountain and please make sure you contact the owners before arriving and use there directions as google will send you on a wild ride you will not like. My wife and I and my daughter who stayed with us loved the place and the location. The sunsets are incredible. We like to move around and loved the location for that ability. The only suggestion I have is plastic glasses for outside and a few more especially larger glasses as I like my beer. We highly recommend this gem Wonderful spot wonderful people and the sunsets are unbelievable.

Wunderbares Haus mit großartigem Meerblick
Das Haus ist ein wunderbares Urlaubsdomizil. Es ist geräumig und gut ausgestattet. Alles sehr ordentlich und sauber. Von der Terrasse kann man jeden Tag den Sonnenuntergang im Meer beobachten, einfach wunderbar! Der Pool kann gegen Gebühr geheizt werden, das war für uns aber nicht nötig. Für eine Runde Schwimmen nach einer Wanderung waren die 20-22 Grad in Ordnung. Obwohl noch mitten im Ort, hat man am Pool absolute Privatsphäre. Besonders gefallen hat uns der verglaste Freisitz neben dem Pool. Kühlere Abende haben wir gerne dort verbracht. Der Kontakt mit Maria und Alberto war sehr angenehm und unkompliziert. Sie haben uns vom Flughafen abgeholt und auf dem Weg gleich den ersten Einkauf mit uns erledigt. Wenn sie z.B. zum gießen aufs Grundstück gekommen sind, haben sie immer vorher Bescheid gegeben. Vielen Dank auch für den Leihwagen, hat alles super geklappt.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Objekt ist sauber und gut eingerichtet. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Sie sind jederzeit erreichbar ud reagieren sofort. Für die Erkundung der Umgbeung benötigt man ein Fahrzeug. Wir haben dabei das Angebot der Vermieter genutzt und das war sehr praktisch. Aus unserer Sicht empfehlenswert.

Schöne Unterkunft mit paar Macken
Theoretisch eine schöne Unterkunft. Leider nicht 100% sauber. Der Boden war bei Anreise noch staubig/sandig, das Geschirr mussten wir größtenteils erstmal sauber machen. Das Zubehör vom Backofen mussten wir gründlich reinigen bzw. war nur mit Alufolie verwendbar. Es gab ungewöhnlich viele Kakerlaken und Tausendfüssler (jeden Morgen ca 4 Stück) und leider auch ab und zu im Haus. Pool und Grillzone war super.
