I booked a non- smoking room based on Expedia reviews that this place was “good”. We were visiting Cal Lutheran. It was so bad and toxic we ended up leaving and staying at Fairview Inn / Moorpark which was excellent
This motel 6 has a former drug den vibe/ odor. Our “non-smoking” “remodeled room”reeked of smoke. Or something toxic. Even the bedding. Within 10 minutes my eyes and skin were burning. My daughter’s eyes were burning. Here’s the thing, can you really remodel a motel that was, like, a meth mobile? I will confidently answer that: NO.
I had trouble breathing. They also allow cats and dogs in their rooms and there are people living at this motel.
We left and found Fairview/ Moorpark. Motel six did not refund our money back. The motel owners said that because I had already checked in. Expedia was like, “shrug, sorry”. Not only will I never stay at a place labeled as “good” on Expedia, I will never use Expedia again when I can get the same deal directly through the hotels.
Crap place. The front desk dudes were nice though. My message to those guys: get out now. If you work there? Run. If you own this place? Demolish it and start fresh. It’s a money pity. Toxins are leaking out of the walls here.
