Like most cottages in Polperro, Teana was shaped over several centuries as is evident from its wonky floors, massive basement walls and traces of old chimneys and fireplaces. It may have been a home of a fisherman's family or was maybe even a part of a lime kiln. However, its present appearance dates to the 1800's and the cottage now offers traditional features alongside modern-living luxuries.
To the front, there is a raised, south-facing double patio which is a perfect suntrap from late March to October and is ideal for alfresco dining. The front door leads into the kitchen with modern appliances and a dining table. To the left of the kitchen is a lounge with a log burner, a comfortable sofa, a TV set, books and games.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, which share a family shower room. There is a spacious double bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe. The second bedroom is a cozy single with a large south-facing window. All windows are large and to the front of the property, making the interior bright and cheerful particularly in summer, whereas in winter months, the log burner and modern electric heaters will keep you warm and comfortable even on a stormy night.
Visitors also have access to a small utility room with a washing machine and dryer, which is accessed from the lane below the front patio.
Teana Cottage's central location at the bottom of Landaviddy Lane and only around the corner from the Big Green is perfect for easy access to everything that Polperro has to offer. Visitors can reach the Teana by car to drop off their luggage before parking their vehicle in the reserved parking space at Violet Farm Carpark at the top of Landaviddy Lane.
