Great stay. My room was large - for Japan, the bed was extremely comfortable and there was consistent hot water in the shower. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was subpar but still good for a quick snack to start your day. The location was great, just minutes from busy areas, but in a very quiet location - across the street from a shrine/temple! Had a great time here and would return!

It was easy to navigate to all the places and restaurants etc that I needed to access and right in the heart of Gion. The roo. Was adorable and cozy yet plenty of room. The beds were super comfortable, room was generous size, and the area is very quiet. The coffee in the room is excellent. The hotel staff is never especially happy to see you. Perhaps this has to do with the incredible volume of tourists Kyoto has been overwhelmed by in recent years.
