The hotel is well located for the Podil area, only a few mins from the central square. I used it as a base for walking around not just Podil but also the entire nearby older part of town (taking the funicular up to St Michael's and the doing a full walking tour). By the ay, there is a beautiful small church around the corner.
I stayed on two separate single nights, bookending a trip to Ukraine. When I arrived at ca 630am fom an overnight flight, of course I could not check in yet but I was able to pay for a breakfast and generally to relax in the seating area outside the restaurant.
Breakfast is due to start at 7 and I used this three times - on each occasion I found the breakfast good with enough hot and cold choices - I particularly enjoyed the quiche and the bread. My only gripe would be that while most things were already out at 7am, the coffee tureen generally took a few more minutes to be ready - hot water for tea (perhaps the more popular drink!) was always there before I arrived.
The service was friendly and considerate: when I decided to leave a pair of shoes behind before checking out, and later returned to pick up deposited luggage, the front desk staff askd if I had forgotten my shoes - the cleaning team had raised the issue and even put them in a plastic bag for me.
I stayed in different rooms on my two nights and would note that the room overlooking the main road (I was only 1 floor up) did get the clanking noise of the tramline.
