"We frequently stay in holiday properties and so know what you can get for £140 / night and sadly this was not up to the standards we would expect. The cottage is lovely, in a lovely sertting but it is very damp with mould around the windows and mildew on the curtains. It was not clean, the tiles in the bathroom were mouldy, under the furniture were dead woodlouse and other remnants of insects, cobwebs everywhere and the lavatory off the main bedroom was very poorly cleaned. "Had a great stay for my husbands 50th, the host put banners up, and a bottle of Prosecco.The cottage was lovely and well equipped, had everything we needed! Weather was amazing so we did lots of walking with our doggie. Great position for loads of different walks from your doorstep. Local pub is ok, we also stopped at a few on our walks. Lovely overnight stay, felt like a real treat.

"Pros: Stunning reception area, feels really posh, plenty of parking space, sufficient disabled parking, if you put your number plate in at reception there's no parking charge, bathroom very nice, room very clean, room has a balcony which is nice just to stand out with a coffee and get some air (even if the view is a busy road) , very quiet so had a good sleep, there was some kind of free Starbucks offer in the reception area but I didn't know how it worked and we were in a rush - absolutely caught my eye, will investigate if we go back, grassy area around the building for dog walking Cons: Rooms could do with a bit of an update, cheapest room is fairly small (especially with a dog), the balcony door was so stiff we couldn't figure out if it had been permanently sealed off until we were leaving and gave it a final try (needs oil or a sign with instructions maybe)"

"My family and I had a lovely stay, the motorway is slightly noisy at night so ear plugs may be needed. Beds were comfortable and the pizzas were amazing! The only downside is that we didn’t know about the £5 per night parking charge. For visiting Alton towers this hotel was perfect for us :) "
