We understand things break but the number of items that needed to be addressed during our visit seems excessive & no accommodation for these inconveniences were offered. While service to address the items was mostly prompt-even loss of one day is significant during a 3-day rental.
Prior to our arrival we were told the fireplace was out of order which was very disappointing.
One of the MAIN reasons we chose this unit was the hot tub. The water was filthy & a bath towel was left in it. Obviously, it had not been checked prior to our arrival. We called & Carlos arrived within an hour to empty the hot tub, refill & treat the water. He did a great job. Unfortunately, the water takes a long time to warm up, so we were unable to use the hot tub 1 of our 3 nights.
The code rec’d to the lock box for the key didn’t work.
There was a humidifier that didn’t work – a new one was brought quickly.
Wi-fi was intermittent making watching tv difficult.
Tues night the dishwasher would not turn on. Wed morning, I called was told someone would come by that day. We left to ski. When we arrived back that evening it still did not work. I called & was told that maintenance was running behind & someone would be out “first thing in the morning”. They offered for someone to come over & wash the dishes. I declined because it seemed awkward to have a stranger doing dishes while I was cooking dinner. 10am Thurs morning no one had arrived. I called again. About an hour later someone came & was able to fix it.
Fri morning, as suggested, we made sure dishes were in the dishwasher & it was running, the dirty towels were in the bathroom tubs & all trashcans emptied. At 10am we were loading the last suitcase in the car & the cleaning crew arrived. They had to back down the driveway so we could leave.
At 10:15, I rec’d a call to remind me check out was at 10 & that the cleaning crew reported they could not get in the unit. I told her they were only delayed a couple of minutes.
This call was very upsetting. We could have left the dishes on the table, towels wherever they lay & the trashcans full. We didn’t. Less than 10 min late leaving & I get a call complaining about the inconvenience to the cleaning crew. After everything that went wrong with the unit, it was hard to believe we were being called out for a few minute delay.
The view is great, the unit is beautiful. But personally, I would not rent this unit again & have significant concerns about doing business w/SCMR.
