No Apartment available at check in
I arrived at check in at 4h30pm only to be told that there was no apartment available for myself & my friends to check in. We had been on the road for hours driving to JNB & it was completely unacceptable that no contact had been made prior to us arriving at property to inform us that no apartment was available for us. No one seemed to care where we would go at that late time on a long weekend & we had no refund to book somewhere else. Eventually the Apex made a plan to check us into another apartment, but it took 3 hours to clean that apartment & have it ready for us to check in. We had to wait around in reception for much longer than necessary with not even an offer of a drink whilst we waited in the heat. The property has no restaurants or vending machines either. Once checked in we realised that there was no aircon or fan in the apartment. To get a fan took another couple of hours & when we got the fans, they were not working so we had to endure staying in hot stuffy apartment for 2 nights. There were also no ice trays to make ice. The only positive in apartment was the working wifi & bathroom facilities. At check in proper procedures were not even followed. I did not even have to sign in as a guest. No one once checked in on us to see if we happy after the checking in ordeal. Extremely disappointed in the service of KPMG Apartments & will NEVER recommend them to any of my clients or friends.

Thank you for your feedback. I would like to clarify that we had communicated through the proper channels that we were unable to accommodate you at our property. We were not expecting you to arrive. This meant that we were not prepared for you. When you arrived, we made you aware of this, and it is you who insisted that we assist you in finding an alternative. this obviously meant we needed time as you clearly mentioned it was a holiday weekend, it is untrue that no one cared where you would go as our staff spoke to you and did everything humanly possible to get you accommodation even though they had no obligation to do so. our property does not have a restaurant or vending machines and those are not advertised as well. The unit you were in had no Aircon and no point was there mention of it and the unit you initially booked had no AC advertised either. We have taken note and will deal with such cases better.

This portion of stay was booked because I needed a 3pm checkout. The host informed me that I needed to reserve another night. I did so however, upon waking to prepare for my trip home we discovered there was no water in the apartment. The host never responded or provided an explanation. I paid for a late check out and could not use the facilities.

Thanks for your feedback. There was no water in the Rosebank area, a message was sent to you informing you the City has a water problem that was fixed within hours. The circumstances of the water being off were beyond our control.

The apartment's location is excellent, just a short walk from the Rosebank mall. However, several issues during our stay left a sour taste. Upon arrival, we noticed a musty smell in the sofa or throw rug, despite spraying with Lysol. Additionally, the walls and ceiling showed signs of cracks. Maintenance issues were also a concern, with three non-functional outlets and a leaking washer/dryer. While the host was responsive, a pre-check inspection would have revealed these problems. I could not sleep the very last night due to heavy winds rattling doors and windows. I knew it was the winds but all night it sounded like someone was breaking in. Despite these issues, the apartment has potential. With a few repairs and improvements, it could be a great option. However, based on our experience, I would recommend future guests to carefully inspect the property before booking and be prepared for potential maintenance issues.
