Rustic, Cozy Cottage with Backyard Waterfall and Cayuga Lake Views!

This cozy cottage, with it's rustic charm will instantly make you feel like you have taken a step back in time to a simpler, quieter pace of life.

The cottage is attached to a multi family home. The two main apartments are vacant. The entire property will be private to you and your guests. Please note there is no access to the main home, you will only have access to the cottage.

The cottage has two private entrances (one in the bedroom) and plenty of parking. The BEST part is the gorgeous waterfall just outside and the breathtaking views of Cayuga Lake, Cornell, and the parks below.

The cottage has a master bedroom (three stairs up from living room) with a queen-size bed and a big window overlooking your very own waterfall! You can open the window to hear the beautiful sounds of the waterfall as you sleep!
**Please note: for very tall persons (6ft+) the ceiling in the bedroom is lower than most.**

The front door of the cottage enters (about five steps up) into the living room with plenty of natural light and scenery. Two futons can become full-size beds, perfect for additional guests or children.

The dining nook can seat up to 6. Extra chairs are located in the large closet in the living room. The cottage comes with a full kitchen with all needed dishes, including pots and pans. We have a Ninja drip style coffee pot, toaster, tea kettle, microwave, and all essentials needed for cooking. Coffee, sugar, and creamer is provided.

Guest have a nice yard space right next to the backyard waterfall with a fire pit and outdoor table and chairs. We have lanterns for light and mosquito repellent.

We do allow pets, up to two dogs and we do not have any breed or size limits. We do have a modest $15 per night pet fee. We do ask that you clean up after your pets outside.

Full self check in is our standard which is very easy, the lock box code will be sent in your booking details. Our check-in letter includes lots of information for your stay so please take a look. If you will be coming in after dark, we will be happy to leave the porch light on for you.

Plenty of space all around! Located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, only a mile from downtown, yet secluded alongside 50 acres of woods overlooking Cayuga Lake.

Other things to note:

**The driveway is a bit steep. Please use caution when entering, stay close to the mailbox side when entering and exiting for the smoothest possible experience.

Our only expectations for guests are to take out garbage and recycling upon check-out, dishes washed, and gather dirty towels and place in a single spot on the floor.

No need to make the bed before you check out as we will be stripping it anyway. However if you would prefer to strip the bed please go ahead!

Plenty of parking available, there is a spot just outside the entrance of the cottage for one vehicle. Additional parking is to the right of the cottage facing the lake. Please do not park on the grass when parking near the entrance. Stay in the gravel to prevent damage to the lawn.

House manual:

There are 50 acres of woods a short walk from the cottage with a path down to the Black Diamond Trail, that guest are welcome to explore (directions are on the fridge inside.)

Regarding the interior of the cottage there is a large storage closet off the living room in which you will find extra dining room chairs, a mattress topper for the futons, a pack-n-play, booster seat, fan, and plenty of extra bedding.

In the bedroom closet, you will find plenty of extra bedding for the futons or bed. On the upper shelf of the closet, you will find lots of extra pillows.

Weekend Getaway

Adorable little cottage. It rained all wknd, so after hiking my pups and I relaxed in front of the fire and watched some Netflix. Even with the fog, the views in the backyard were stunning. I hope to return in the fall.

Magical spot in Ithaca, NY

Having a panoramic view of the city of Ithaca, Cayuga lake and a waterfall makes this property heaven for any nature lover. Our dogs had a wonderful time as well. The cabin is very close to great restaurants and other waterfalls and trails, which is an added value. Tia was a wonderful host, super responsive, caring, and kind. The cabin was rustic and cozy, which was perfect for us. We can't wait to go back!

This property is exactly as described. Small and cozy. Older property but clean with sort of a Maine camp vibe. Allows dogs. And yes there is a waterfall/gorge right next to it. Nice lake view too. Plenty of parking and safe neighborhood. Easy check in and check out. We enjoyed our stay.

Delightful weekend stay

Very cozy and well appointed. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. The waterfall sound was very soothing, and this cottage made the perfect jumping-off point for our exploration of all the local gorges and waterfalls. Recommend!

Lovely Cabin-Vibes

Was the perfect location in the middle of everything we wanted to do! The cottage had lovely cabin vibes with all the amenities of home. The backyard water fall was gorgeous. Our dog loved smelling around the yard. We promised ourselves to spend more time in Ithaca in the future and know we’ll have a great place to stay.

Perfect little hideaway

Came for 3 days to visit Cornell with my daughter and this home was perfect. Small, yet not lacking anything, rustic but lacking none of the modern tech. The backyard waterful, fire pit and views are worth the stay alone. Would definitely stay again.

We’ve been making a short distance trip to Ithaca as a getaway. Close to State Theatre & restaurants. The waterfalls is a bonus & hypnotic sound to sleep by.

Perfect getaway

3 of us stayed at the adorable property and were very comfortable. Sitting in the yard listening to and watching the waterfall was perfect. You are close to town but feel very secluded. The hostess communicated well and had everything we needed.

Peaceful getaway

We had a nice relaxing stay, very quiet and peaceful area. Only small problem was the coffee maker wasn't clean, had to spend about 30 minutes cleaning it before using it. Not a huge deal and nice of them to provide filters/coffee.

Lovely Vistas, Quiet Place

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place to stay that feasts the eyes as soon as you look out the window, this is it. If you are looking for luxury and amenities, this is not the place for you. My husband and our 2 dogs enjoyed it very much, getting away from it all is what we were looking for.

Beautiful

Although the cottage is only one and a half miles from downtown Ithaca, the property is spacious, quiet and private. The cottage is very clean and tidy and apparently recently updated. The property's waterfalls and view of the lake from above make this my best rental ever!

Idyllic peaceful getaway

This is the most perfect location! Really secluded with your own drive, entrance and waterfall and lake views, but only a 10 minute drive to downtown Ithaca. The property was really comfortable and cosy and really clean. It's really close to both Taughannock Falls and Watkins Glen, which are both a must! Cornell is also the most beautiful campus I have seen! I would 100% recommend and I am already dreaming of visiting again!

Cute, tucked away apartment

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The outdoor space was great with views of a waterfall, the river and the city in the distance. The space was just the right size for a couple to stay with extra room for local family to visit for meals and hangout time. I wish we had more time to explore the trail around the property. The property was close enough to Cornell without being near the party areas of campus and it felt very private despite having more than one unit. The host was great at communicating and had plenty of instructions and even offered to share any entertainment ideas should we need them.

Quiet and peaceful/As advertised

I thought it odd that we had to make our own beds. A 1st for me using VRBO The vegetation could be trimmed to better enjoy the beautiful backyard waterfall/same for the lakeview Saw four wild turkeys while looking out of our picture window each morning Bed was comfortable. Had restful sleep. Close to town but far enough away to enjoy peaceful setting

There's a waterfalls

Wine by the falls in the evening. Coffee by the falls in the morning. Secluded, yet so close to Ithaca, great parks and wineries. And did i mention? There is a waterfalls! It's all good

Awesome Location, Scenery, & Experience

I recently stayed at this VRBO listing and I have to say, it was an amazing experience. The coziness of the cabin, coupled with the surrounding natural beauty made for a perfect relaxing getaway. The bed was so comfortable and the fireplace really added to the cozy atmosphere. While we enjoyed staying in and chilling out, we also appreciated the convenience of having everything we needed close by. When we decided to venture out to eat, restaurants and conveniences were just a short distance away. I highly recommend this VRBO listing to anyone looking for comfort and convenience in a beautiful natural setting.

basic with mountain cabin feel

The two of us and our dog were cozy and comfortable in this 2 room cabin. it was clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable. There are steps into the cabin and up into the bedroom so someone with mobility issues might have a hard time. The area felt safe. 10-15 minutes to many hiking trails with waterfalls. 10 minutes to the center of town with shopping and restaurants. 11 wineries with the farthest being 35 minutes away. There are also museums for adults and children. We had only 2 days to explore the area but we will definitely return to the area and rent this cabin again.

Backyard waterfalls

We had a good time renting this property, the backyard waterfalls are beautiful, their sound at anything is incredible, view at Cayuga lake is incredible. Great location close to town, privacy is really appreciate. House matchs the description in the app, but honestly needs a little more of maintenance and some updates, especially in the couches. At this time it would be nice if the foliage in front of the falls were trimmed to have a better appreciation of them. The property has a lot of potential that needs to be improved. Besides that we had a great time.

Very comfy bed

When we pulled into the property we almost left thinking we got scammed. The property is very overgrown and unmaintained. This was described as a cottage but it's actually an apartment. We didn't use the outdoor area as the table and chairs were dirty, the torches were all broken and the yard was unkept. Not very inviting. The view was obstructed by overgrown trees and weeds. The apartment was clean. The bed was amazing.
