First and foremost, the property is situated on the most beautiful area of Lake Barkley/Cumberland River. It faces due west, which means every night, you will have a stunning sunset to end your day! We spent many hours of our week fishing off the rocks, watching the barges (who knew that would be such a delight!), an reading in the screened in porch or hammock. It was HOT while we were there, but that really did not impact our trip (we are Midwesterners too!) The house is very close to Highway 68 that takes you right into the Land Between the Lakes. We hiked, went kayaking, and rented a pontoon boat for the day from Lake Barkley Marina.
The house itself was comfortable for 5 adults. The living room is spacious and plenty of room to spread out. We made daily use of the grill on the deck, as we were traveling in COVID times, and did not want to eat in restaurants. My only real criticism is that the kitchen was not really "fully stocked". It was fine for really basic cooking, but we did have to bring baking pans, and additional cooking ware; plus there was no toaster, which I assumed a fully stocked kitchen would include.
Check-in was really easy, and our hosts answered all of my questions prior to our trip.
I would definitely return to this wonderfully secluded beauty on the lake!
