「Beautiful location near Volcanoes National Park and Volcano Village. Quiet, rain-forest grounds with fiddleheads, ferns, anthurium on walking path to hot tub. I was traveling with my hula sister and we wanted to watch the Merrie Monarch Festival on TV. The television was old with poor reception. I tried to contact the host through VRBO but couldn't get through. Called the VRBO help line and they cut me off so we watched on my computer instead. Glad I had it with me! Otherwise a pleasant stay.」

The best was turning on the heater in the early morning to dry the air when the temp was cool enough. No message before arrival and no phone answer. The main interiors are dark wood, with original custom bannisters and similar craftsmanship, and the furnishings are period-correct.
