Casa Romero is the perfect apartment for exploring Havana. It is located in Centro with just a 15 minute walk to the Capitolio (which is basically where old Havana starts).
The apartment is nice and clean and you have your own bathroom in connection to your bedroom. There are 2 bedrooms in the apartment. There is also a balcony out to the street and if you ask I'm sure Yanet will show you the view from the rooftop as well.
Yanet and Yamile (the sisters who run the place) will spoil you with lovely breakfasts every morning and they have a lot of good recommendations for where to go.
I stayed at Casa Romero for the first 5 nights of my 4 weeks in Cuba and I came back for the last 3 nights before my flight from Havana.
I strongly recommend this casa particular in Havana :)

Casa Romero is a family run casap/hotel by"Las dos hermanas".
It is clean and proper and is within walking distance to central Habana (Ave. Jos'e Marti), Habana Vieja, Malecone and Floridita/Slopy Joe (Hemmingway).
The breakfast (desayuno) is just great with vegetables I have never seen before.
I can highly recomend this casap

Friendly casa in Havana central
Couldn’t have dreamt of a better start for my 2 week holiday in Cuba. Yanet and Yanik, the 2 sisters owning casa Romero are so warm, welcoming and helpful. As I speak some Spanish I could enjoy their good sense of humour so everyday started with a good laughter over breakfast (Yanet speaks English though). After 2 weeks spent in different casas in Cuba I can say that their breakfast was the best and most copious. Variations every day.
My room was impeccably clean with a good modern standard and a small balcony. Hot water with good pressure at all times. The casa has wifi and I was happily surprised they were offering internet cards for purchase.
I was afraid the casa might a bit too far from Havana Vieja but it turned out to be perfectly situated in a lively and picturesque part of the city and only a 15 min walk from the old town. No problems walking back late at night for a woman on her own.
Yanet and Yanik come in the morning to cook breakfast and clean so the rest of the day I had the apartment for myself as the other room was only occupied 2 days out of the 7 I stayed at the casa.
I can only warmly recommend casa Romero.
