Booked this property because we wanted a quiet location away from the road to get a good nights sleep. Unfortunately, we endured no such quiet time as there is a tree that physically touches the property and the canopy of the tree touches the metal roof and you are then subject to what sounds like an amateur drummer practicing in the bedroom. Alarmingly, the owners knew about this and made excuses that it was due to the recent winds. You don’t need to be a tree surgeon to work out that a tree touching a property will move and make crashing noises when paying guests are present. More alarmingly, the owners would rather customers be their quality control and advise that the remedial work they did 2 week prior to arrival was not sufficient for our quiet enjoyment. They would rather dither and perhaps decide to get a specialist to look at a tree and perhaps do the work so paying customers can have a good night sleep and not be too knackered to enjoy their time in Halls Gap!
Furthermore, never have we stayed in a property with so many lights that is so dark such as the kitchen and living room. The kitchen is tiny, 1.5 sqm of worktop, crockery is mainly chipped.
Described as “Boutique” which conveys a luxury property. It isn’t. It is tired, not unclean but it so well used that the condition of the property is so very poor and our experience was not in anyway pleasurable. Don’t get sucked in by the “style over substance” of this poorly presented and managed “boutique” property!
