My family (a mix of adults and kids under 7) had a great week here. The house is huge and well-stocked. There’s a ton to do nearby - hiking, biking along the reservoir, exploring Woodstock. The 50 minute drive to Taghaunic State Park is well worth it - the kids swam in the lake and there’s a spot to put in kayaks and paddle boards. There were a couple small issues that didn’t negatively impact our experience but might be worth mentioning for others. One, the bugs surrounding the house are awful. Not just mosquitoes and biting insects, but swarms of gnats. The second you step off the porch, they’re on you. Two, although we didn’t see any mice, we noticed that they got into our food at night. We didn’t leave anything out in the open - it was all in drawers and cabinets - but mice definitely got into cookies and pop tarts. After a few days, we started leaving our snacks in the oven overnight. Three, the house didn’t have air conditioning. It wasn’t an issue at all the first few days bc it was 70 degrees and rainy but later in the week when it got up near 90 the house got a little stuffy. There are numerous fans though which does help. Overall we had a fantastic time. Tammany is extremely responsive and wonderful to work with. We definitely recommend staying here!
