The villa was just as advertised by Maria Laura but the photos did not do the views or the location justice. Up a winding driveway the villa is situated far away from traffic noise and crowds with glorious views of the lake. Mornings and evenings were spent leisurely dining on the patio, the children playing in the grounds or in the pool, with the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Garda. In August the daytime temperatures were very warm but the cool evenings were a delight. The numerous rooms and passages were a haven for the children to explore in the villa, and they were also fortunate to be able to share in the fresh figs from the trees which just happened to be ripe.
Every day was filled with a new adventure in surrounding villages and towns, each with its own special character, food and wine. Venice was one major day trip which was filled with suprises and photo opportunities at every turn. Alas, we were not able to see as many sights as planned. We were however very happy to potter around and relax by the lake, and to take in the local ambiance. More to look forward to for our next visit which we will certainly do.
Maria Laura made sure that our stay went according to plan and was in communication throughout our visit to make sure we had what we needed. The whole transaction and organization of the visit was smooth and without any issues at all.
If you are looking for a very authentic Italian experience, in a rustic location, surrounded by scenic vistas and lots of history, this unique location is for you.
