• Hundreds of cockroaches. They sent somebody for the cockroaches and that reduced it a lot from us killing 25 cockroaches per hour to 20-40 per day. Be extra careful about leaving food out unprotected, we spend a lot of extra time cleaning and drying, and also spraying with a can of roach kill presumably left by the previous tenant.
• There is a pier shown as being by the property , in the listing, but it is closed and has been closed for a year, it won't be open for another year.
• The kitchen is supposed to be outfitted but it is not.
• Most of the pots and pans are damaged.
• There is one dented and rusty cookie sheet
• There are no potholders.
• There is one kitchen towel and it has holes in it and it is frayed.
• The local representative, VACASA, told us while driving—after spending hours weeks in advance to ensure parking—that we would NOT be able to get additional parking when we got here. They said that we would have to park in front of residences in the neighborhood. When we arrived at the property we were told that if we waited until 6 pm they would know if they had spaces available for sale—which is information that VACASA did not bother to learn so that they could share with guests. VACASA should have told the building management to put us on the list ahead of time instead of me needing to get on the list at 4pm and risk not having a space. Further customer service failure is that Kels--- of local VACASA was rude and dismissive. ...and rude of condo to use others' properties.
• They sent somebody for the cockroaches twice and that reduced it a lot. Maybe our efforts will save others if they stay on it.
• They kept saying that they would do something about the kitchen but they would not. They could have fixed it for less than $100.
• The dining room table, card table, and coffee table are a mess. They need to be refinished or replaced. The tabletops are sticky because the finish is decomposing and the finish is worn through where people rest their arms.
• The coffee table is rusty on the metal parts and the wood on the top is worn and stained.
• We have been using VRBO since 2001 and have never had problems like these. VRBO took about two hours of my time passing me from agent to agent saying "This next person can help with the situation." No contact with owner.
