"What a nice little hidden gem! We really enjoyed our stay and loved that it was pet friendly! The motel is a no-frills motel and there is no pool - BUT you cannot beat the gorgeous ocean view from the rooms. It's right there on the beach and it was a perfect stay. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and we can't wait to come back again!"

"For being on the beach in a central location you cant beat the price. Overall stay was good. It is an older hotel that needs updated but again a good price. The second shift manager was friendly. The first shift manager appeared to really not care. The room coffee pot was gross with scum floating in water. I informed the male first shift manager and he had no reaction or response. Finally i found a very helpful cleaning staff that removed the coffee pot from the room."

"What a lovely, stylish place to stay! The complimentary bikes were my absolute favorite. We were able to bike to get coffee and Trolly Stop during our stay (our must haves while at Wrightsville)! Having access to the sound as well as beach loungers by the ocean were a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend staying at Trailborn! "

"There were numerous shipping containers taking up a large portion of the parking area. The shower flooded the bathroom floor and there was mold in the shower. The shower products are terrible. So much perfume in them, I had to go out and buy my own."

"Ive traveled extensively for work and play, so the franchise hotels get a little boring. I was in Carolina Beach NC, and this little place pops onto my screen. I liked the colors and the theme, so I booked it for a couple of nights. Pulling in and parking, I immediately felt like I was back in my childhood at one of those places that dotted the beach everywhere. Entering the room, I found a brand new renovation complete with higher end fixtures. The fridge and microwave were completely retro....

"Very nice motel. Right on the beach. You can tell they have upgraded the rooms a bit. Some of the amenities are still older but it was a very clean room. They don't have an elevator so if you have bad knees the steps to the 3rd floor can be brutal. Love the easy check in Out. Will definitely stay again. "
