The beds were nice and the room price was good. The location was right off 275 and everything you could want was nearby. We were in town for a UM football game and it was easy to get to the stadium about 25 minute drive away. Breakfast was ok and Tim Horton’s was in an adjacent parking lot within walking distance.
The daily issues with keycards not working was a real challenge. We had two rooms. Both rooms had issues with keycards timing out. 4 times in one day?! Neither door closed fully so you had to make sure to pull the door shut completely coming and going. We used wipes to clean off extra grime on all surfaces as well as the air conditioning slats, which in one, were moldy. The tubs in both rooms had mold and need to recaulked. There were posted signs about “under new management” stating they were aware of the doors, stained rugs, and other painting needs. If you like the smell of cannabis every elevator ride and in the hallways, this is the place for you. After 3 nights, We weren’t sure if the scent was from patrons, staff or both.
The Baymont hotel next door (view out the window) had a situation we observed around 1 pm Sunday. Police were moving an agitated woman out of a room at Baymont. She was handcuffed and eventually taken by ambulance.
While the staff were very nice, there wasn’t much they could do in the moment for infrastructure repairs. Hopefully, improvements can be made to make this a better place to stay.
We will not be returning.
