「Golden Pearl er et flott hotell til en fornuftig pris. Flott uteområde rett på stranden med mange solsenger. Betjeningen er imøtekommende, men det oppsto her som mange andre steder i Sri Lanka en del kommunikasjonsproblemer grunnet dårlig engelsk forståelse. Fantastisk meny på kjøkkenet, men vi visste knapt at de hadde en før avreise, så informasjonen til gjestene burde vært bedre.」

Standarden kan virke litt lavere ved første øyekast, men man finner raskt ut at dette er en liten oase et stykke fra Tangalle sentrum. Kort spasertur til stranden med skilpadde-sightseeing. Litt for lang avstand til sentrum, men dette gjenspeiler seg i en pris som vi faktisk opplevde som for lav i forhold til hva man fikk tilbake. 「If you are looking for a dose of peace & quiet, this is it. Long empty beaches, palm trees, the occasional monkey, orchids in the garden. The staff was very friendly. There are only 12 rooms, so theres a familiar feel in staying here. The rooms and grounds were very clean. The view from my room was spectacular. 「Friendly staff and facilities at the hotel are good. Nearest beach is a rocky beach. Last few KM of the road leading to the hotel is very poor. This section needs to upgrade and possibly out of hotel managements' control. They may need to coordinate with the neighboring hotels and the local authority.
