Enjoy a stay in one of the original farm houses within Decorah city limits . Located by Luther College, its a great starting point to explore downtown Decorah, catch a Luther College game, bike the trout run trail, check out the world renowned Seed Savers, do a craft beer tour (centrally located between Toppling Goliath, Pulpit Rock and Pivo Brewing) or just have quiet weekend get away. You get the entire 2,100 Sq.Ft. in town farm house which has room for up to 8 guests.

October 2023 Sister Get-Away
This was perfect for us sisters to gather and stay in one place to be able to share stories, laugh, gather around the fire pit and just relax!!! This property was close to everything downtown and walking/hiking trails. Showers were amazing and had a lot of pressure. The only downside for us, was not having curtains/blinds on all the windows downstairs; the grass was pretty long but a minor issue. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this place.

Artist Studio Tour
Was a great location to start out daily drives to artists' studios and a wonderful place to land after the day was done. Close to downtown Decorah. Recommend taking time to visit Vesterheim - The National Norwegian-American Museum and dining at Rubaiyat. We think you will enjoy both.

Family reunion
We were with family most of the weekend but the house was just perfect for us and close to our family’s farm, but the beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean and lots of hot water! The manager was very helpful and responsive! Thank you for contributing to a wonderful family weekend!

Decorah Delight!
Great yard space for the kids to play, location very convenient, and lots of space to spread out inside. There is a "nearly free" EV charging station within walking distance of the house which was very convenient! Enjoyed our stay and great communication with the owners.

Reunited with friends
Its hard to find a good place for 2 families of 4! But this checked all of the boxes! Plenty of room for us all. Kitchen space was plenty amd thr fire pit was great! We hiked and enjoyed the area breweries. Kids loved the hatchery!

Sisters' Getaway
We were three sisters and a cousin on a short visit with family and to connect with our heritage at Vesterheim. The house is clean, fresh, and very spacious. Hardwood floors are beautiful and the kitchen is huge and well laid out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again.

Beautiful Home in great location
We had a wonderful stay here while attending a wedding in the area. The home is perfect for multiple family's go gather together and relax. House is well layer out and plenty of seating to sit and converse.

Highly recommended
This is an absolutely lovely home to share with friends and family. It is comfortable, clean and has a warm and welcoming feel. Mattine is very responsive and has done a great job making this home feel inviting. If you and friends or family need a place to stay, near the college and not far from downtown Decorah, I highly recommend Mattine's farmhouse!

Fantastic location!
Fantastic location close to town! This house has four comfortable bedrooms, and a very nice roomy kitchen with eat-in dining area. We had plenty of room for our family to prep meals, play games and be together, plus we were only minutes from the Whippy Dip and other Decorah attractions.

Did not stay
The pictures make this look better than it is. The beds were just mattresses barely off the floor. We are in the hotel business, we know what guests expect for their beds. The beds were unacceptable in our opinion. Very disappointing and we stayed at a hotel after viewing the property.
