「This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. The locals were welcoming as well. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent as was the food. I can't fault our stay there. Plenty of parking at the pub now, with a new car park. Handy travel time to Critch, Matlock and the Peak District. Located on the side of a steep hill, so walking anywhere is a good bit of exercise!」

「Room was excellent in all respects. Reception was friendly. We could only reach the breakfast room by walking across the car-park, which was not pleasant in the February weather, but the wide selection and generous portions of cooked food available for breakfast add to the overall good value for money offered by this hotel. Having smaller appetites, we would have liked to see some bread or toast alongside the jam and butter on the buffet table or at least to see them mentioned on the menu,...

「Lovely hotel The annexe area is very tired and the bathrooms need updating. The spa was ok but could benefit from an upgrade and maybe some soft relaxing music in the treatment rooms. The staff were ok. No one ‘went the extra mile’ let’s say. Staff need to be more customer focused at times felt like they were putting themselves out to accommodate us when it should be that nothing was too much trouble especially in the spa. This didn’t spoil our stay though. 」

「Clean property, pleasant staff. I tried to check-in about 40 minutes before 3 but was told no and had to wait. The hotel was not full and in my experience most places allow some early check-in. When I did check-in it was right at shift change so it seemed the person just didn't want to try.」

「The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was extremely comfortable with a large, very comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge and amazing, double sinks, huge shower and a bath, very modern. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel and we were very happy with our stay there.」
