Absolute perfection in all ways!
LOCATION: Stellar. I could have lived on the deck. Despite some rainy weather, we drank in the Olympic mountains as they poked their snowy peaks through the clouds, watched the local bald eagle, countless herons perching in the trees around us, even a deer meandering through the yards. (The host thoughtfully had two pairs of binoculars available.) And if you didn't like the light rain, you could see it all from the covered lower deck.
HOUSE: The perfect combination of luxurious and comfortable. Light and airy, with amazing beds and bedding. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need, including my introduction to an induction cooktop - wow!
ACTIVITIES: We were a three-generation group, including a 5- and 7-year-old. (We were VERY grateful for the hose in the front courtyard to spray them off after visiting the tide pools.) The Jacuzzi and sauna got a workout after hiking in the rain, as did the foosball table and mountains of games. We were having such a fun time, the huge TVs were never turned on (imagine that), and the kayaks - a big part of why we chose this property - were sadly never taken out. We never took advantage of the community beach, because we spent all of one day exploring tide pools from Deception Pass to Double Bluff beach with our recent grad and personal naturalist.
THE HOST: Darrell was delightful, easygoing, and couldn't have been more accommodating.
NEGATIVES: Just one. We couldn't stay longer. We'll be back!
