About this space
Unplug, unwind, and relax at this peaceful family cabin. Enjoy hiking, kayaking, fishing, swimming, and nature. Listen to the loons while sitting on the screened in porch or enjoying an evening fire. Pond access is within walking distance providing a clear sandy beach and a gravel boat ramp. Many other ponds and lakes are nearby providing fishing and boating. ATV trails are accessible from the cabin providing unique vistas and wildlife sightings. Fall foliage is especially pretty in the area.
The space
Cabin in the Pines is nestled in the quiet Maine woods on Upper Lead Mountain Pond. The location is ideal for a wide variety of outdoor activities or as a relaxing getaway. The cabin is designed with a loft area with two beds accessible by a fixed wooden ladder, and two main floor bedrooms: one providing bunk beds and the other a single Queen-sized bed.
The cabin is outfitted with a full kitchen complete with common kitchen pots, pans, and cooking utensils as well as water. Relax and enjoy meals from the grill or kitchen on the screened in porch equipped with a table and chairs or outside on the picnic table.
Inside, a couch allows for comfortable relaxation after a day exploring outdoors or gather around the accompanying coffee table to play games. The bathroom is a half bath providing a sink and a single stand-up shower with hot water. Toilet facilities are in an enclosed clean and well-ventilated outdoor privy.
Outdoors, the cabin provides a relaxing hammock strung between two trees and Adirondack style chairs to enjoy a fire making it the perfect ending to any day.

The cabin:
The stove and fridge will already be turned on for the season. Interior lighting is provided by propane lamps as seen in the photos, there are lighters hanging by the kitchen window.
Power when needed, is provided by a generator that runs the window fan which is behind the couch, the master bedroom and loft fans, 5 outlets, well pump, and hot water. The generator will need to be on for showers and dish washing. The generator comes with a full tank of gas and can be found in the shed behind the cabin. A full tank will run about 8 hours, additional fuel (fuel canister provided) is available for purchase at the Airline Snack Bar, up on Rte. 9 on the left just past the camp road. The Airline Snack Bar also has washers and dryers that are $2 per wash and $2 per dry.
Exterior lighting is provided by motion and solar lights. Solar lights lead to the privy, motion lights are along the driveway, the cabin porch, and to the generator.
Fishing:
A Maine fishing license is required for anyone 16 years of age or older. You can purchase one online at:
