The house is... fine. The stairs into the house didn't bother us (young couple with two small children) and the view was really nice. However, the house has two sets of stairs once instead and one set is a metal spiral staircase that has tennis balls on it to protect you from hitting your head.
The basement, which is advertised as the "master bedroom" is far from the advertised "romantic retreat" and smells like animal pee. Although it's advertised as 3 bedrooms, it's really only one bedroom with a basement and loft - requiring small children to either be closest to the front door or in the basement alone. The third bed was a mattress on the floor in the corner of the basement.
The upstairs bathroom sink is a pedestal and wasn't attached - my husband leaned in to shave and nearly knocked the entire thing over and we couldn't turn the water on more than a trickle or it came out like a fire hose.
Lastly, we got into town 2.5 hours ahead of schedule and stopped by. We saw that the house was unoccupied and tidied so we asked if we could go ahead and go in, but in spite of those things they wanted to charge us an extra $45. I get that they can't accommodate every early check-in situation, but we were literally parked outside and it was abundantly clear that between the 2.5 hours nothing was going to inconvenience anyone - except for the parents of two small children who had to drive around aimlessly killing time.
I don’t typically air grievances in reviews, but it was even too much for me to ignore. We loved the area, but the cabin was the worst part of the trip.
