I must preface that my perception of Cartagena is clouded by the wretched humidity. With that said, the hotel isn't bad. Three of us stayed in the room and the room was pretty bare-bones looking, but had all the amenities we needed. Even though the positioning of the beds were somewhat odd, they were comfortable enough to get good rest. The room came with a TV, a fridge, a small closet, and a safe (I don't recommend you using the safe, money disappeared from it while we stayed here. Just lock valuables in your bag or suitcase).
The room had tile flooring which added to its aesthetic bareness. The bathroom was a good size with a big shower. However, there is no hot water in the hotel, but with 90 deg. temps and 80% humidity, you aren’t going to want hot water to shower with. The hotel has a patio on the rooftop that overlooked part of the city. The breakfast was simple (four options to choose from), but delicious and we enjoyed eating there each day.
It's located near the walled city, and half a block of Cafe Havana. It also next door to a delicious pizza place I highly suggest. It's also located near a church plaza where everyone gathers and night and is littered with restaurant and food vendors.
