We really enjoyed our stay, the property manager is awesome, and the place is exactly what it says it is, but we are not the typical travelers.
Location: This is near the fishing village of Miloli'i near the very southern tip of the west coast. Nearest "town" is Oceanview. Getting in and out involves driving a very steep and windy road, taking about 20 minutes each way at 15mph. It is almost exactly 1/2 way between the touristy "downtown" and the Volcano national park, about 1.5 hours to each. Speed limits on Hawaii are very low, and most roads one lane each way, with very limited places for passing, often stuck behind someone going slower than limit. Waze generally estimates the time accurately to within 5 minutes. Do the check before leaving, on wifi, because cell coverage is very spotty.
Property: really nice place, great furniture, layout, decor, art, amenities. Open plan, lots of light, all the comforts and tools of home, except no AC. Plenty of fans and ventilation. Lots of room. Room for a large party using the couches, beds, and hammock. Two caveats: Not much privacy. The bedroom does close, but any noise will be heard throughout the house. Also, the neighbor to the south is really close, and with windows open you can hear them (and presume they you). Mosquitoes everywhere on Island, so use OFF.
The area: Rustic. Local snorkeling not for beginners. Best beaches are Black Pebbles and 2 Step, both north on main road, about 45 min away.
Key is Relaxation.
