"The property itself was incredibly quiet and on one side of a cobbled stable area. Every morning and evening, the owner's three elderly horses were led to and from the nearby field and we could often see the horse looking over his stable door from our bedroom window - the pony and Shetland pony weren't tall enough to look over! "We have stayed at these premises a number of times previously and have to say nothing has changed, still a lovely well set out cottage right in the centre of Wooler.Very clean and tidy, with everything you need for a short break or a longer stay. The host is very helpful and communicates well.If you book the cottage be sure to book the Italian in Wooler, it’s called Milan and it is very good, the best bit is it’s less than a 2 minute walk from the cottage!"

"The location of the house is perfect for visiting various beaches & historic towns, nothing was too far. The house is very well equipped and felt very cosy but with plenty of space, especially with our 2 golden retriever dogs. They also loved the garden, with lots of room to run around. "Lovely accommodation, castle rooms felt a little tired but the bathrooms were excellent. The drawing room space is a wonderful retreat. The bar is not staffed as often as I’d expect and it was occasionally challenging to get a mid morning coffee. The spa staff were pretty unfriendly about small children coming through the entrance due to treatments taking place but they have set children’s swim time of 9-10 and 4-5 so these policies and practices seemed at odds with one another."
