Situated in the tiny hamlet of Kerjeffredic, L’écurie is a gite sleeping 6 guests. Guests have exclusive use of the vast, beautifully maintained grounds and a heated swimming pool which is available in summer. Kerjeffredic is in the heart of rural Brittany and near to the medieval chateau town Josselin.
The Local area
A short drive from Kerjeffredic is Josselin, a French 'petite cite de caractere' situated on the banks of the Nantes-Brest canal. It has a stunning chateau and is also home to the Puppet Museum. There are numerous restaurants. This bustling town has all you need for shopping and a very popular Saturday market. There are boulangeries, banks and pharmacies as well as two large supermarkets just on the outskirts of the town.
Malestroit is another charming Breton town on the banks of the Nantes-Brest canal. About 15 min drive away. Another popular market town in the area, this time held on Thursdays.
Close to Malestroit is St Marcel where you can visit the Musée de la Resistance. A fascinating insight into WW2 history and the involvement of the French in helping their allies.
Rochefort en Terre - a must on your list of pretty towns to visit. Numerous eating places and shops abound in this Breton town.
Approximately 1 hours drive away the south coast has many lovely beaches, including Damgan, Carnac and La Trinite sur Mer. These all have numerous restaurants .
Vannes
Within easy reach of Kerjeffredic is the walled medieval city of Vannes. Well worth a visit to see the many historic buildings or just a bit of retail therapy in the elegant shops!
Inside L’écurie on the ground floor is an open plan living area. This consists of a fully fitted kitchen with large oven, dishwasher, washing machine, plus a lounge/dining area with plenty of seating for both dining and relaxing.
Upstairs there is a bathroom with shower and toilet and also a separate toilet.
There are two double bedrooms, and one twin bedroom.
The main patio doors lead into the gravelled courtyard and garden and the side patio doors open onto the terrace with the pool and barbecue area. The heated pool, with surrounding fence, is available from end of May to September. Pool dimensions: 6m x 3.5m and depth 1m.
There is an outdoor table and plenty of sun loungers.
The large outside space with several wooded areas is perfect for youngsters to run, play and explore.
Bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own pool towels.
There are stairs up to the first floor and the courtyard at the front of the house is deeply gravelled. This makes it unsuitable for guests who are wheelchair users or have impaired mobility.
Pets are allowed, maximum 2 dogs. Please note the garden is not secure and your dog should be supervised at all times. A fee is charged and guests must adhere to the regulations as follows:
- Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or upstairs
- Dogs should not be left alone in the gite
- Any dog mess is the responsibility of the dog owner to clean up.
