We found the house easily but VRBO does not mention that you will not receive check-in information. Do not go directly to the house! You must first go to "Cool Cabins", the property management company to check-in and receive the entry code. Cool Cabins is not close to the house so plan ahead! Once that was sorted out we drove back to the house. It was about as clean as a person could get it but with the high ceilings and wood walls the amount of spider webs was impressive. The house is in good working order but extremely dated. The floors are in bad shape and covered with multiple K-Mart style floor rugs. The cookware is very old. The whole place reminded me of the early 80s. The furniture, blankets, towels, pillows, EVERYTHING needs an upgrade. The wood chairs in the back yard are not usable. The plastic chairs on the front porch are old and brittle. There is not a door directly to the backyard. There is a side door and then you go through a gate to the backyard. Nevertheless, it was the perfect location for hiking, biking, and exploring Big Bear. The neighborhood is very quiet. And while everything was outdated, it all worked perfectly fine. I do recommend bringing your own towels unless you enjoy an exfoliation treatment while drying off. The master bedroom is next to the bathroom and the bed is decent. The upstairs loft is spacious and has a nice little sitting area that overlooks the main living room and kitchen. The heater is amazing and kept the entire house cozy. Plenty of hot water. Good water pressure. Overall it was perfectly fine while also totally unimpressive. You get what you pay for and this house was spot on for the price.
