I had seen the cabin online, my husbands first impression was "I hope it looks better inside than the outside".
We went in and it was freezing, couldn't get the heater to work. We hadn't bought firewood yet for the fireplace. I must say the fireplace is very nice. Property management had to come and check heater, my husband stayed to wait for the repairman. So I left to buy firewood and steaks for dinner to BBQ. Well make a long story short we didn't BBQ.
We were there for Thanksgiving dinner, when I opened the oven it was very dirty. The refrigerator was was clean. If we were going to use the hot-tub we would of had to wait for someone to come and fill it. I happen to hear a noise and the spa was on and it had alittle water on the bottom. I guess someone left it on. The kitchen lighting and throughout the cabin was horrible. One lamp in the living room so it made it really dark. I like a lot of lighting, especially in the kitchen. We ended spending our dinner at the timeshare (world mark) that my son was staying at. We hauled everything over there cause I had cooked mostly everything the night before. They had a dining room, and a bar area with 3 stools so we all sat comfortably. Check the cupboard for the stuff that they have there which is very nice, however some of the stuff was expired. We washed some clothes and when I went to put in the clothes in the dryer, the clothes were sopping wet. I had to run the spin cycle twice and finally I had to wring the water out of the clothes by hand cause the spin cycle was not doing its job. and of course I had to run the dryer a couple of time for the clothes to dry. It just seemed like it one thing after another. I called the owner, to address the issues I had, he responded promptly and he will address the cleaning issues that I sent pictures of. I don't want to bash the place but it does need alittle TLC. Its nice inside but it wasn't for us. Make note that it only has one bathroom downstairs. The bedrooms are upstairs so coming down the steep stairs at night is not fun. You have to keep the stair light on all night. This was our first time staying in Big Bear, I wished it would of been a better experience. I think if it was alittle cleaner we could of made the best of it, but it kind of gross us out. The pictures on the internet look great so I thought it would be a nice place to stay. My husband did not agree.
