Old English Coaching Inn style hotel in the lovely town of Berkhampstead. Friendly professional staff, comfortable bed and bathroom with shower over. Full breakfast menu.
However, I don’t think the hotel was worth £143 for the night. Some of the rooms were outside, luckily it wasn’t raining and there were some umbrellas by the tiny reception desk in the bar, my room was outside by a shed with a courtyard view which was no view really as it was just an entrance to 3 rooms. The hotel exterior could do with some TLC. The breakfast menu was extensive. I ordered Eggs Royal with Avacado but asked for 1 eggs as this is a large breakfast in most places. But it was the smallest egg and half a muffin the size of the egg, the smoked salmon was nearly non existent and there was a tiny spoon of avocado. It was delicious but lost on the plate so if you order this, order with the 2 eggs. The hotel has no parking but parking is available at the sister hotel the Penny Farthing 10 mins walk away. Again I was glad it was not raining. If I return to Berkhampstead I will try the sister hotel next time.
