Property: nice house on the smaller side. Adequate for 4 adults. Nice beds and furniture. Stocked well with dishes and utensils. Don’t expect the basics like salt and pepper though. Guest info book is way outdated. 7 remotes in drawer for tv and “ other” devices and do not work according to information booklet.
Upon arrival I was pleased to be out of town with high expectations for SR based on many previous visits. Snow on the ground and more coming was cause for a relaxing time with a fire. BUT, be prepared to go buy your own firewood and fill up the wood box for the PM won’t. Was told firewood was 6 ft off deck, yep, downstairs and covered in snow and soaking wet, won’t burn. A nice wood box right out the door upstairs but not even a complimentary bundle of dry firewood. Hot tub is nice BUT, a day before check out it was drained and refilled and was too cold to use and, it was subsequently locked up. Hot tub, fireplace with wood, and ease were priority for me. Each of these fell way below SunRiver expectations.
My summary is that the owner takes great pride in the property and wants you to treat it tenderly, fine and certainly understand. However, the same was not returned to the care of this guest with just bare essentials you get other places. We enjoyed our stay for SR is more than a house. It is the touches of customer service that can make or break a review. Customer service here was severely lacking for a winter time stay. This is a personal review from a frequent SR guest.
