Our stay at the Beef Island Guest House did not start out well. Thanks to either hotel.com or the hotel, the first night we arrived, we were told that hotels.com had made a mistake and guaranteed us a room that they did not have. They told us that this happened all the time so we were forced to get a different hotel room the first night. The guest house called and got us a room at another hotel, which unfortunately meant an additional $20 cab ride across town. This hotel folks, was horrible. It had beautiful landscaping but the rooms had wiring sticking out of the walls, loose outlets, no coffee maker... We did end up getting into our hotel room the next evening and they were very apologetic which was fine, but we were out the extra money for a cab and extra money for a different hotel room. Don't know who to blame here but I will never use hotels.com again or stay at this hotel. They are very nice people and very accommodating but it's just not worth it. The hotel's ok and it's on the beach but it is on the other side of the island. Taxi rides to and from add up quick. If you're just looking to relax for your stay, this is an ok place, but if you have any plans to island hop like we did, take my advise and stay closer to Roadtown.
