"Nice quaint place, bungalows are spacious and private, very good service by staff, delicious food. The beach is nice but small and lots of sargassum. There is no cell phone signal and wifi is very weak, so you are disconnected from the world. No air conditioning. The hotel is 5 km from town and the road has plenty of potholes , 3 km not paved."

"I have been traveling to Mahahual for solo fishing adventures every year for at least the last 8 years, and I have always stayed at the Cabanas Del Doctor, and I always will! I don't need anything fancy, but for the very reasonable price of a room or cabana here you won't find anything even close to as good. "This is a HOSTEL, not a HOTEL. So, PRO: Súper friendly staff, big kitchen you can use, right in front of the beach, in the middle of nowhere. No people around. Perfect for a getaway with no cellphones. CONS: Not the cleanest place, they don’t clean the rooms during your stay, staff only works during mornings so if you need something during the day it’s kinda difficult.
