Please care a little about your property
I’m aware that this business model is advertised to property owners as a set it and forget it passive source of income but it’s not. Hospitality is a real job with standards that need to be met. None were here. The property was filthy when I arrived with trash littering the yard, chalk graffiti all over the house and an over grown unkept yard. The interior was equally filthy. Covered in spider webs and dead insects with black and slime mold in the shower. There were several holes in the wall and all of the picture frames were caked in a thick velvet film of dust. The carpeted areas had little tumble weeds of assorted pet hair. On my second night the lock broke and I was locked out of the property during a deep freeze. I was unable to get the hostess to respond and had to have customer support intervene. When she finally stopped hanging up on me it was clear she was in some kind of a night club environment. There is no working heating on the property except for a space heater and the record player is purely decorative. The neighborhood does not appreciate that a Vrbo is in the area and the neighbors deliberately park in front of the house and play loud music during the night to deter guests. I ended up contracting influenza A due to the stress and lack of sleep. I also had to purchase my own toilet paper since only half a roll was provided for the two week stay. Overall the impression was that the hostess doesn’t value their property or their business. They just want to part
