Welcome to your Elm Island Lake retreat, boasting 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms to accommodate the whole family, including house-trained dogs! (One dog crate and one dog kennel available onsite. Sorry, allergies preclude cats). Plenty of space indoors and out for games, exploring nature and the lake, outdoor picnics and yard games, badminton, sledding down the hills, ice skating on the frozen lake in winter, and relaxed and invigorating country dirt road walking away from busy roadways. This home has 2 full beds, 2 queen beds, and 1 twin bed, and additional floor space for your sleepingbags, cribs, etc. With AC in the Dining Room/Kitchen area (although rarely desired, as the lakeside breeze is heavenly), radiators for heat (and drying mittens), an iron and ironing board (for the special night-on-the-town attire), and a washing machine and dryer, guests will feel right at home for a lengthy stay! 3 bathrooms offer refreshing showers, and upstairs also has a bathtub. Embrace the perfect, refreshing, natural, and serene ambiance of this property. Enjoy the warmth of the central woodburning fireplace. You may meet a couple really lovely neighbors that are available when needed, but you need not know they are there, due to the large natural lots. Make your vacation memorable with a stay at my vacation home! You will want to return again, and again. Every season of the year is lovely on Elm Island Lake. In Aitkin, visit the Jaques Art Center, Aitkin Bowling Lanes, Rialto Theatre for movie night, Block North Brew Pub for chef-prepared scrumptious meals, Rosallini's pizza place, Aitkin County Fair, or the live bands (indoors and out) at a number of local spots. You can also bring your boat to launch on a number of nearby lakes, including Elm Island Lake. Great sandy beach at nearby Lone Lake. Come prepared for all sorts of water sports! I hear Aitkin County also welcomes people who want to experience ice-fishing for the first time! Great fishing year round on many many lakes...choose your favorite! Visit the Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge. Take a day trip to Duluth, MN to see the ocean ships come in and out of the harbor carrying their supplies! Visit the beautiful Duluth Rose Gardens overlooking Lake Superior. Drive up the North Shore to Gooseberry Falls for more natural spaces and to fill your soul.
Leave your devices at home. This home currently does not have wifi. And you won't miss it. There are so many family activities to enjoy, and plenty of space indoors and out to find a secluded spot for yourself for some downtime.
You will definitely leave at the end of your vacation refreshed and invigorated.
