The neighborhood was a bit run down. Next door had a trailer that was becoming part of the yard/sidewalk. Several broken items in the house; part of the curtain rod was broken and barely hanging onto the wall, curtain had burnt holes, blinds in master bedroom was broken and I couldn't open them and the microwave above the stove appeared to have been shot (handle was missing). When I called By the Sea, I asked about their check in/out list (per their rules there should have been one) so that I would not be charged for the broken items but was told to email them and not to worry about the list since there wasn't one. We knew that there would be limited cable so we brought our own DVD's, but we couldn't get either player to worked. When I asked, I was told to unplug the player and see if that worked. Instructions would help. TV in the main bedroom was like a 26 in, it was hard to see the TV from the bed as it was so small. However, it was the only TV we were able to work. I've emailed By the Sea the things that were broken and have yet to hear back from them. We are disappointed with our stay and hope that their other properties are in better shape.
