"Located far from city, near a port. Check-in was fast and staff were polite and friendly. Room was of good size with 2 single and a bunk bed for 3 adults. Comfortable and clean. Breakfast was simple Japanese fare but excellent quality and service. Parking was convenient with attached multi-storey carpark. Just that its a little far."

"We had a fantastic stay here with our two year old and four month old. The baths were great and also had a sauna and cold pool, and the room was very clean and comfortable. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were superb and there was a menu in English. Our host Sarina was wonderful. The hot sand onsen is a short walk from the hotel and was very easy to get to. "What I liked about the hotel was that it had its own sand covering experience because Kagoshima is known for this experience but usually at another location. The thing that I didn’t like was the fact that the bathtub water faucet was leaking water and making the bathtub dirty. Also if you are not use to sleeping on tatami style bedding it’s going to be hard to get a good sleep. "

"Ginsyou is an older, well maintained property. Not all that modern. We ordered the dinner and breakfast at the hotel and found it to be way over the top. We could barely get through the dinner, as there was so much of it. The breakfast also consisted of some rather unusual food that my stomach could not tolerate in the morning. And there was no coffee with it. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, though. "
